We had the pleasure of hiring Couvreur Denis Courville (2025) for a roof replacement (3,000 sq. ft.) using an elastomeric membrane, along with maintenance work on two additional roofs.Charles, the owner, and his team did an excellent job from start to finish—from the initial meeting, to clear communications to patiently answering all of our questions, as well as the organization and execution of the project.We would also like to make a special mention to Frédéric, the foreman, for his patience and dedication to his work. Honestly the lead up to our appointment was good, as they were very helpful and answered all of our questions by phone/email.EDIT: Deleted the latter half of my review to reflect a phone call from the owner (I think the owner?) to my husband, which cleared up some confusion around our appointment. The owner also kindly offered to answer our remaining questions that remained by phone/email, as we were unable to ask the roofer the day of our appointment. I will note that with this experience, they’ve gone above and beyond and we would happily pay for their services again.EDIT 2: Couvreur Denis Courville has ended up being a lifesaver for us, finding many issues with our roof that a home inspector missed. We would happily and strongly recommend him to anyone, and will certain plan to use him ourselves when the time comes. The service of this company is top notch.
We had the roof of our duplex redone by Couvreur Denis Courville Inc. in the spring of 2023 and we are very satisfied with the work done. They were very conscientious from the beginning to the end of the work. During the demolition, they disposed of the materials professionally (no "throwing" of material into a container at street level). The installation of the elastomeric membrane was done according to the rules of the art, for example, all membrane overlaps are done respecting the direction of water flow. The welding was done carefully with fire extinguishers present in case of a problem.Also, communication with the company is impeccable. The visit for submission was made by Mr. Charles Courville. We were notified in advance of the date and time of the start of the work and this date was respected. Finally, they came back free of charge a few months later to follow up on the work at our request.The schedule and budget were met.Contractors like this are rare! We recommended them to friends who also had their flat roof redone with elastomeric membrane by Couvreur Denis Courville and they are also very satisfied.Thanks to the entire Couvreur Denis Courville team!
The Courville team were smart, efficient and professional. They arrived in force and on time, worked diligently all day, and then a smaller team came back on a second day to finish up the small amount of remaining work. I went up from time to time to watch as the work progressed (I have stairs to my roof), and the team lead was happy to answer any questions or concerns that I had. We are very satisfied and would recommend Courville.
After soliciting multiple quotes, we chose Courville to replace the gravel and tar on our flat roof with a new white elastomere membrane as well as to replace our skylight. The installation team were courteous and neat. I got on the roof myself to check the work and although I'm no expert, the installation of the membrane in terms of cuts, seams, and corners seemed to be of high quality as well as the new vents, drains, flashing and skylight. I was impressed that Charles Courville, the president, came to inspect the finished project and answered any remaining questions we had. I also appreciated that, unlike other contractors, they didn't rush us to immediately pay the final invoice after completing the project -- they only sent it after Charles came to inspect and approved the work. My wife and I are fully satisfied and would definitely hire them again.
