I had never used Christian Brothers (CB) before. I reached out to CB for assistance with an Owens Corning warranty claim. The owner of CB responded very quickly and got the local Owens Corning rep involved. They helped with pictures, samples and documentation needed to submit the warranty claim. Once the claim was approved, I had CB work up a quote for my shed roof and some siding over the porch. I approved the pricing, materials ordered and the work was completed soon after. I’m very happy with the final results. I’m glad CB helped out a new customer like me.

HOMEOWNER BEWARE: I am extremely disappointed with my ongoing experience with this company.

Communication was strong prior to signing the agreement, but it deteriorated significantly once the contract was in place. Voicemails went unreturned, and emails were addressed selectively and only after repeated follow-ups. This lack of responsiveness is especially concerning given that the installation work resulted in damage to my property, including a newly installed door that is now damaged and has had its warranty voided.

The siding was improperly installed and attached directly to the door. As a result, the manufacturer informed me that the door’s warranty has been voided — a serious issue with potential long-term financial consequences. This basic installation error should not occur with a professional contractor. Additionally, the initial siding installation was substandard: J-trim was cut mid-run and left incomplete, siding panels were misaligned, and visible gaps were left throughout — defeating the purpose of proper siding and trim installation.

Throughout this process, I repeatedly requested to speak directly with the owner to resolve the matter professionally and reasonably. My calls went unanswered. When I finally received a response from the owner, Aaron, it was via email stating they would issue a payment amount determined by the door manufacturer — based on discussions and information that were not shared with me. To my knowledge, the manufacturer did not conduct an in-person inspection, and I was excluded from any communication regarding my own property.
Despite one round of attempted repairs, the siding issues remain unresolved. It is not only the visible workmanship that is concerning, but also what may be hidden beneath. The company has attempted to declare the matter resolved upon issuing a check, even though the siding installation remains incomplete and the door warranty issue has not been properly validated or restored.

A job cannot reasonably be considered complete until all work — including damage caused during installation — is fully and properly addressed. The outright dismissal of poor workmanship, property damage, and repeated communication failures is deeply troubling.

A homeowner should not have to mention, seek, or require legal action after countless attempts to simply have a direct conversation with a contractor about unresolved work and damage to one’s home resulting from neglect or outright ingnorance. What is one to do if the owner does not want to discuss anything? It's a shame to have to consider legal action in order to have a conversation to address a botched installation and neglent damages. I would like to believe an owner would want to undertand in order to thwart future occurrences. Clear communication and accountability are fundamental in any professional relationship. Unfortunately, neither has been demonstrated here. If I hadn't said anything, nothing would have happened, suggesting this is typical behavior.

Homeowners should proceed with caution. Based on my experience, this company appears comfortable making unilateral decisions without homeowner involvement, while continuing to invoice promptly before work is fully completed.

Communication matters. Completion matters. Accountability matters.
