I found Shane great to work with on several locations. I actually originally got him to replace a couple of shingles that had blown off my roof! I didn’t think I’d get anyone to do that job. In working with him then I found him to be dependable and honest and when it came time for a roof I went with him. His crew was great and so was he. They did a great job and when they were done Shane came by to check out the job they did. I highly recommend him.
The crew started and finished within a week. They did the underlayment and all the other work just before the new year holiday so an extra day was needed for the tile supplier to open back up. - a couple of mine were broken.Men were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves each day leaving no debris after the tear off.Checked with 2 other companies. I've used The Roofing Company for 25 years, under the leadership of Shane Underwood. My 1st experience was when I had a patio roof leak 25 years ago in a custom built home that was only 4 years old. I contacted a company via Angie's List. The contractor quoted me $28,000 and said that not only would he have to re-tile my connected (small) patio roof with new tile, but also part of the back of my house as well, to "tie it all in." So I asked him why his bid was so pricey and he said something about only quality being found from contractors who were associated with Angie's List. So then I somehow found Shane's phone number and asked him for a comparison quote, which was, much to my shock, only $1200. It hasn't leaked since.The 2nd time I called Shane, I had a roof leak over the edge of my garage after a big storm. My house has heavy concrete tiles. He said it looked like a tile got moved because of the storm. He put it back in its place. "No charge." Talk about honesty!The next time, again, the cost was very low and well done. The last time was two weeks ago. We had 2 leaks during a recent storm. He quoted one but said the other one was more likely caused by old wood trim around my chimney. He could have just charged me to replace the roof around my chimney, which is a common roofing issue, but instead, he told me the likely cause. So later, I removed the old cracked wood trim and ordered painted steel replacements. Before the trim order came we had another big storm that lasted for days. The 1st leak was well fixed and worked great. The chimney didn't leak either, just because I had removed the old trim like Shane had recommended.Honesty is a RARE commodity these days, especially with the blue collar trades. My only fear is that he will retire some day. I just hope he passes his integrity and company to a trusted friend or relative. 5 stars plus! Shane was our estimator, he's just the nicest man. He came by every single morning and looked at the work that was being done. He sent pictures and explained what I was see in the pictures, every single day, of what was going on, on the roof. They did their very best to keep the yard cleaned up at the end of every day they were here. All the people I interacted with on the crew were very nice people. Very definitely would recommend The Roofing Company.
